Financial Reporting Accountant

Career opportunity:
We currently have a career opportunity for a Financial Reporting Accountant  to supplement our finance team. This role will be based out of our head office in Vancouver, BC.  We are looking for a highly motivated, high performing, results driven candidate who will report to the Senior Manager, Finance of the corporate group.


Key responsibilities

  • Consolidated financial reporting for Harbourfront Group of companies
  • Prepare monthly reporting package for Board of Directors
  • Prepare weekly updates for Board of Directors
  • Maintain financial projection models for subsidiary companies
  • Cash flow analysis and forecasting
  • Monitor financial results to ensure compliance with debt covenants
  • Monitor regulatory capital requirements
  • Assist finance team with year-end audit working paper preparation and financial statement disclosures
  • Financial analysis as requested by Board of Directors
  • Perform ad hoc projects or reports as directed by Senior Finance Management team

Ideal candidate qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or enrollment in the CPA program and/or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Accounting designation or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years in a senior accountant level role
  • Experience in data analytics and report management is an asset
  • Effective verbal and written communication with all levels of the organization
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, advanced level with Excel
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, work within time constraints and follow-up
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and professionalism
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, results driven, thrives within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications, advanced level user with excel
  • Experience in the financial services industry is an asset
