SENIOR PORTFOLIO MANAGER & FINANCIAL PLANNER

Thomas is a Senior Portfolio Manager, Financial Planner and Founder of Affinity Financial Group. He manages operations and advises clients in both the Halifax and Lunenburg branches. He is a registered Portfolio Manager with the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO), which ensures he is held to the highest educational and regulatory standards available for investment managers within Canada.

Thomas specializes in working with business owners, families, as well as individuals by ensuring they invest with a robust and modern investment portfolio that reflects their investment risk and return ambitions. Beyond designing an investment portfolio, Thomas ensures clients receive objective advice which provides comfort and confidence in their investment portfolio and how it integrates with meeting a range of goals as their financial lives evolve.
Thomas began his career as an advisor in 2008 with a large Canadian financial planning firm. In 2011, he joined a team that would eventually become Affinity Financial Group. In 2017, he became a principal of Affinity Financial Group and has since overseen its growth and expansion.

Thomas holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Cornell University and Queen’s University. He has completed Level 1 of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program from the CFA Institute along with the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation from the Canadian Securities Institute. Thomas is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) with the Financial Planning Standards Council of Canada and a Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) with the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP Canada). Thomas graduated from the Bachelor of Science Program at Dalhousie University in 2008.

In his free time, Thomas enjoys a range of hobbies as well as spending time with his wife Courtney and daughter Charlotte.
